Another Sketch

Another charcoal sketch for Gritty Jane's class....i like the charcoal and think i will do more....i think i will use a reference this next time... i think all of the "girls" i do (from my head) look alike...so boring!!!!

Stamping & Coloring on Fabric

In Sharon's apron class one of the assignments is to stamp and color on muslin so we can become familiar with the pencils we are using to do the apron art....The color we are using comes from Inktense pencils by Derwent.... they are awesome....i have used them before and really like them....they are watercolour that is permanent when dry....

These butterflies are my practice.....i think they are so pretty.....

Finally got a, not so great, picture of one of the small journals i did from Zorana's class......i plan to journal and sketch on separate small pieces of wc paper and attach them in the journal....probably all faces...i love to do faces..... this was very "fun" to do..... I also started the larger journal that is part of this class.....it is done with rosin paper..... fun , fun, fun...... the journal is 3 1/2 x 5 inches and ties closed with a ribbon...... i loved doing it...

2 More

I did these 2 paintings mostly using "nupastels" by prismacolor... they are fun to use...i drew them on re-purposed materials..... one is a piece of scrap wood and the other is a "food" box that i stuffed and then covered it with collaged papers before i drew on it....

Out My Kitchen Door

This is the scene out my kitchen door .... in the summer you look at my herb garden and the flowers that bloom every spring, summer and fall......the snow is beautiful , but 14 inches of it keeps us here on the mountain.....if i were an organized person i could get soooo much accomplished while we are stuck.....and even do some art.....

At one Sitting

I have my "Nupastels" sitting on my work space and decided to use them this evening......a very quick sketch on a up-cycled cereal box that i covered with medium, torn papers and molding paste....i used pastels to sketch with years ago......i think i like them again... :D

Waiting

These are works that are waiting for me to complete...and i am only posting the ones i have in a "art space" ( messy art space ) in our home, not my studio down the lane......i also have at least 100 sketches of faces in journals that need color..... ...or applied to canvas or wood.....love doing faces.....it is sooo hard to work only on the week-ends ....... but art is my salvation..... ;-)

Works in Progress

more wip's here...it seems that is all i have been posting lately.....but i feel the need to post something today...it is hard to do art when i am away from my studio 3days a week taking care of Piper, my 8 month old grand baby......but i manage to tote some art supplies with me each day....i have been doing some "gouache technique" pieces for gifts and thought i would log them here and share with everyone.....they are time consuming, but easy and relaxing for me to do ......most of these are in their beginning stages...today i will be putting the gouache on the ones that need it , then the india ink, and then the final step of washing the ink off and seeing what resulted (the fun part).....then you finish with paint of your choice....fun....
